i need help. does anyone have a ps3 or has a friend with one? even though i got a backwards compatible unit, and it has memory slots, they don't fit memory CARDS. you have to buy another adapter, which is crap, but it's even more crap because you only need it ONCE.

soo... does anyone have a ps3 and thereby the memory card usb adapter cable? i will pay you back for the stamp if you have to mail it. srsly.

i haven't written anything creative in a really long time. i haven't WANTED to. but i'm doing another murder mystery party, and i'm writing the basic concept for it...and man it's turning out to be FUN!

to those who have no clue what i'm rambling about, after i invested in one of those pre-made murder mystery kids (around 2002 i think?), i realized how stupid the canned dialog sounded and how lame the characters were. so henceforth... i created my own scenario, and had the guests create in part their own characters. then i and sourlemonade, my partner in crime, inserted the characters into the story, gave them secrets and tied them to the murder, and named one a killer. we did themes like d&d/fantasy, superhero, and harry potter.

this year i'm reprising the old tradition. we haven't settled on a theme yet; i'm just working out the details. i have 2 stories beginning to be fleshed out: a d&d themed murder mystery set in the capital of a fantasy monarchy land, and a 1920s gangster/horror (Cthulhu anyone?). it's really fun to be creating these stories....to create my own fantasy world, its government, and its people...and to submerge myself in 1920s gangster culture (although it will be heavily influenced by the 1920s-plus-otherworldly-horror from shadow hearts 3).

so you know. if you ever want to put me to practice, and you want to hold a murder mystery party for yourself and a number of guests... let me know. :)

i'll share more details with you guys as i reveal them to my 7 other guests.

Final Fantasy 9 Garnet costumes/weapons/accessories!!!!

Hi, all! I have a massive Final Fantasy IX Princess Garnet costume sale about to occur. I am wondering if there is interest in purchasing the items before I put them up on eBay. This is because eBay charges you when you list the items for sale, and again when the items are sold. Ugh. I just put a bunch of comics and manga up for sale, and did not feel much like incurring additional seller's fees, especially on items more expensive than books.

Here is my eBay feedback: 100% positive, 81 feedback total. So I am a reliable seller! Payment for the items are through paypal, so I will send invoices and they must be paid before the item is considered sold. If you do not use paypal, I will accept money orders, but items are first come, first sold so whoever pays for them first get them.

On to the costumes, weapons, and accessories!

Up for grabs today we have...

The Jumpsuit and the Gown.

The jumpsuit she wears under the mage robe is not in sellable condition. I had it made for me in 2003 so it has seen a lot of wear. :D it is also very form fitted, so if you're not my carbon copy, it won't fit too well. I plan on dissecting it at some point to sew a new one.

But! The royal gown ... I had it commissioned for me last year. I am not too happy with it. It cost about $500 and it is not of the quality you would expect for that level of financial investment. The base gown was sewn together of wedding quality ivory material. It's pretty lovely in and of itself. The bodice does not have a lot of shape to it. I had to wear a corset underneath it. The advantage to that, I guess, is that it can fit a variety of sizes. But unless you are smaller than me and had it tailored to fit your size, you would require a corset with the costume.

I wanted the designs embroidered with beads on the gown, but the commissioner ignored my request and painted the designs on the gown. :( The paint is smudged in some places. If you have the talent and the time, I would use the painted design as a guide to bead the design on. It is wearable with the painted design, but it's not wonderful and amazing and perfect. FFIX is my very, very favorite video game so I am not happy with anything less than wonderful and amazing and perfect.

I provided a great deal of reference images but the detached sleeves came out wrong. They are only the length of my forearm instead of my whole arm. The commissioner promised to make new ones but, you guessed it, she flaked. I will gladly include the sleeves, but again...not perfect, or even close.

The gown is in dire need of ironing by the way. Sorry, I don't have an iron..... Also the pictures don't do the fabric justice. It's a very soft and lovely dress. My issue is with the form and construction of it, and the fabric is just lovely.

Holding it up to myself. The train can be pinned back (from underneath in the back) and it is pinned back in this picture.

The lower half of the gown hangs nicely. The paint is kind of smudged on the green trim but its hard to tell in this picture. There is gold trim on the bottom layer but its hard to make out. Crappy cell phone.

and finally, the back of the gown .... with the train let loose. yes that makes the gown fit as a sheet for my full sized bed. that's a lot of gown!

So the gown cost me $500. I wore it for a couple of hours one day at Fanime 2006. If you would like to take it off my hands, please make an offer. I will take no less than $200. OBO I suppose but that would really be a desired minimum. :( Shipping will probably be $15 or so...I need to get it priced. The gown is very heavy to ship...the commissioner didn't skimp on fabric. Heh.

The gown would best suit someone between 4 foot 11 and 5 foot 4. Measurements are: chest up to 40", waist up to 38". Free below waist.

The White Mage Robe

This robe was made for me by Amethyst Angel. It has NEVER been worn. I planned to remake the jumpsuit before wearing the robe, but that is not happening anytime soon. So the robe has been hanging in my closet, and is better off in a new home. It is very, very beautifully made.

The robe is thick but breathable, all seams finished with a surger. It is made from breathable cotton, and the triangles are embroidered onto the robe. The hood is detachable.

There is a bit of give, so approximate measurements are: bust up to 40". shoulders up to 16" shoulder to shoulder. waist is free size. yeah, this one fits a big range of sizes. i am five feet even and the robe reaches slightly below my knee.

Asking price is $125 OBO. Shipping is about $15 I am guessing...need to weigh it to double check.

The Wig

This wig mirrors Garnet's long haired style. The base wig is an Enchantment from Amphigory in the color coffee house, and was styled by arcanica.

The clip at the back is silver, to match the royal gown. You can, of course, replace it with any other clip. The wig was worn for a couple of days last year, and with a wig cap so it never touched my head directly. It will be shipped on a wig head. It has been lightly combed and conditioned with Katie Bair's wig conditioner.

I was ambushed by a camera man so the pose is kinda blah. But that's the wig as I wore it, although by that time in the day it was slipping back a bit. I love the color of the wig, it matches my hair color EXACTLY. (Also pictured: mithril rod).

my digicam is broken so forgive the quality of the cell phone pics. the wig also looks a bit frizzy but it is currently undergoing a detangler bath :D anyhoo this shows ya the length. this wig would also be good for Tifa if you're on the short side.

Mithril Rod
This rod is over 3 feet in length. My ex boyfriend made it, and it was his first prop, so while I loved it, it's not up to the standard of professional prop makers. The base of the rod is wood, but the accents were created using papier mache and craft foam. It has been painted and sprayed with coating, so the paint won't rub or run. It is very light.

Although the dowel forming the bass of the staff is wood, I did not have to have it "peace tied" at a convention because it is so light and much of the curved parts, and ball at the top, are craft foam.

The coating to hold on the paint makes it look quite shiny.

This is such a hard prop to part with. But it reminds me too much of my ex, which is a painful thing to remember, so I hope it finds a better home.

is anyone going to fanime or anime expo this year? i want to go, but i usually go with lawrence. :( if he goes this year, i assume he's going to be rooming with josh and erik. i'd like to avoid spending the weekend with him. it would be awkward generally, and that was also our last vacation together. last year we shared a 5 star hotel room alone, and it was a great time.

so um. i'll probably be skipping either or both this year unless there's a new group i can tag along with. :\

Hey, guys. I've been talking to Miller, one of my bay area high school friends, for the first time in a while. I want to get a pen-and-paper roleplaying game up off the ground...I'm in serious withdrawal from playing Hackmaster and Call of Cthulhu in Davis. Miller wants to do Cthulhu as well, and he is going to get the books and read up on it. Are any of you bay area friends (or siblings, especially you Frank!) up to joining the game?

Pen & paper means dice rolling and your character on a sheet of paper. I.e., D&D, except D&D is one system. That's like saying all video games are GTA...well no they aren't, of course there's more video games than GTA. Just like Dungeons & Dragons are one among a bunch of systems.

Call of Cthulhu is based on the works of H.P. Lovecraft. Basically, the world is the world as we know it, except there are some very dark elder gods manipulating humans and driving them mad in their bid to destroy the world.

If you have played Eternal Darkness on the Game Cube, you know Call of Cthulhu. That game (god I love that game) is based on Lovecraft and Poe. (For that reason I think Alyssa and Frank and Andrew would love to play). Same concept: you're an average joe, set in the medieval era, 1920s, or 1990s. (I like 1920s best).

You don't say "I'm a wizard" when you make a character, you say (as I did with my 1920s character), "I'm a nurse. I work in the San Francisco General Hospital. I was an army nurse in World War I. I like to read mystery novels...I garden a lot...I have 3 beagles. I like wine, but don't tell anyone because it's the prohibition era. I'm not married and not dating."

From this character, named Delores Alexander, the game master derives your skills, which are on a 1-100% scale. Delores had a very high score in stuff like first aid, medicine, psychology, investigation, very good credit score, etc. Your character is a real person, all fleshed out and everything. That's why I like the system so much. Our party in the 1920s Davis campaign consisted of me, a doctor, a plumber (not unlike Mario; this is Erik's character, I'm sure you're all surprised), a boarding house owner, a black market thief, and Lawrence's kinda unemployed jack of all trades.

So we don't know which era we will pick. We're also not sure when and how often game will be held. I'm putting this out there to find out who in the bay area would be interested in playing, and when you would be free. Most likely we will be gaming weekly or a few times a month, on Saturdays or Sundays.

Pierre and the Magic Cell Phone

Once upon a few minutes ago, there was a happy little bunny named Pierre.

"Who, me?"

Pierre was a relatively carefree bunny, if you ignore his ongoing quest to conquer the world...but every bunny is out to conquer the world so that's not what makes Pierre so special.

"I refuse to consort with this base-born, smelly peasant!"

One day, Pierre was hanging out in his mommy's room. Err, his throne room, I mean. He noticed that his mommy had a shiny new toy, so he leaped forward to investigate.

FLASH! Mommy's shiny new toy blinked brightly, and King Pierre realized he had been assulted by the paparazzi.

"What the crap is this thing, Mommy?"

Why it's my brand new camera phone, Pierre! But look, you ruined the picture! It's all blurry cause you got too close. Back up and let me take a good picture of you.

"If you want to take a picture of me, you must scratch my nose and give me many kisses!! I command you, for I am King Pierre, heir apparent to all of Bunnydom."

Pierre, back up! I can't get a good picture of you if you get too close.

Pierre hastily retreated...err...escaped...no...um. Pierre ~~fled~~ sojourned to a far corner of the room, to regroup and contemplate the mystery of the magical shiny object. He did not like the shiny thing, because his mommy would not let him flip it over and toss it around. It also made a bright flashy thing, and king Pierre did not like that either.

King Pierre came up with a plan. He trotted forward, coming to his mommy like the good, obedient bunny he pretends to be sometimes.

His mommy leaned back a bit, focused the shot, and snapped a picture.

"Aww, Pierre that's perfect!" His mommy said.

And while she admired the wonderful picture of her eldest and greatest bun, King Pierre caught hold of the dangling cell phone charm attached to the phone, yanked the phone out of his mommy's grip, and dove under the bed with the infidel shiny thing that dared invade his realm.

So Sissy sent me some pictures of her puppies. They are verrrry cute and getting super big. Here are some Halloween pictures Chrissy sent.

Bowzer, the corgie/basset hound pup. He's 2.5 months old. He's sooo cute!!! He was a lil devil pup for Halloween.

This is Bo. He's a black lab mix...he looks a lot like my dad's dog Lucy. He is a little frankenstein. (He looks like a supermodel posing for the camera I think).

Hello, all! I figure its time for that long overdue picture post I was talking about last month. Got a loooot of pictures of bunnies and people alike. Now these photos came from a camera I bought for Chrissy's wedding. I actually bought 2 cameras and only used one camera's worth of pictures. Since I was in the wedding party I couldn't take many pics. I gave Lawrence the second camera and told him to take pictures. He took zero pictures.

I was using his digital camera up until I moved from Davis so it took me a while to fill this camera up. But fill it up I have and sooo....we have picrures!

So this is the one picture I took from Chrissy's bachelorette party. I got her a gag gifty--a penis gun. She had fun squirting everyone, especially the menfolk.

Go sissy go!

Months later, before Sissy left for boot camp, she dropped by my place in Davis and hung out for a while. Here's her snuggling a lil Hana while we watched a movie.

So let us jump back to when Hana was brand new and teeny tiny. He was so small I made him a house out of a teeny post office box.

He liked to sleep in tiny places when he was little.

Here's a picture from when ...um....Siena peed on him and I needed to give him a bath. Ah, rabbit courtship... ><

As Hana got bigger he stopped squishing into small places to sleep. He bonded to Siena and sleeps snuggled with her. He's still cute and mischeivous, though. :D

Now, you know THIS one is old. This is from before Hana was born.....and it is the one time Siena and Pierre got along out of their cages. The peace lasted for 10 minutes and then they started killing each other again.

So fast forward to October...lil Nana has grown up! He is changing color again. In the above pictures his nose, tail and feet are gray. He turned allllll white in his last shed. He'd shedding again and his Himi coloring is returning. He still has his daddy's wonky ears...I love love love those ears :D

ALSO! Some personal announcements. I have begun to de-Lawrence my life a bit further. I went to Target today and bought all new sheets, blankets, and quilts. I bought our full sized bed last year, when we moved in together. My mom bought the sheets and blankets etc. So ... its always been OUR bed. When he left me, all of his stuff was still here, and I had to sleep in that bed by my lonesome. It was very, very difficult. Living in my dad's house I've been using the guest bed. My bed doesn't fit in my old room with the furniture the way it is; the parents are almost done remodeling Frank's room and then the guest bed will go upstairs and my bed will come into my room.

So I get to start fresh with something I bought for ME. :D

Oh, aaaand...I got my hair straightened. I felt the need for a change, so went to the alameda beauty college and got it straightened. I need to blow dry and flatiron it in order for it to not be frizzy, but it's a lot easier than trying to striaghten my curly curly hair.

Now if we ever go to Tahoe again, we can both go in the casinos to hang out and play.

I am just about ready to STRANGLE Lawrence. Grrrrrr he's really pissing me off. Basically Saturday night he logged off Warcraft saying he'd call me the next day and we'd play together.

Now, I've been playing World of Warcraft for over a year....I have 3 level 60 characters and have done the whole levelling up thing and all the low level dungeons (I know ALL the lines the bosses spout from Deadmines...by heart....I've been in that place more times than years I've LIVED) time and time again. Basically I am really getting sick of the game. The only thing in the game that is new and challenging are raids, which take 20-40 players to clear. The guild I'm in does not raid often but I know a lot of people there, from ingame friends to a ton of Davis people (Erik, Josh, Lawrence, Gina...yes Gina :P)

So let me cut to the chase. Basically I was waiting on Lawrence so we could play our low level characters together, because it is kinda fun if you're not playing alone. So I call him, and he doesn't pick up. I call him again an hour later. I send him a text message. I do this pretty much ALL DAY and no response. Not a one.

At that point I'm deciding whether to be angry or worried. He does not call me like he said he would.

I get in touch with him today. "What were you doing yesterday?"
"Oh, just loafing around. Nothing really."
"Did you not notice me calling a dozen times?"
"I was kinda ignoring my phone."

Yeah, this is about the level of consideration Lawrence has for anyone who is not him, even when we were dating. What an ASS!!!! Ugh. That teaches me not to depend on him. Its still really rude, and I was getting more and more pissed at the day wore on....

So here's my resolution and I will try my hardest to keep it.

Do not call him. Do not text message him. Do not try to contact him in any way. If he calls me, fine. If he messages me, fine. If we see each other online through WoW, just fine. But I will not make the effort nor extend the level of care or affection I would a good friend, or a lover.

On a side note, when I get home from work I have a ton of pictures to upload from a camera I just developed. The first picture was taken at Chris's bachelorette party at the end of March and the last in my dad's garage last week. :)

I. Cannot. SLEEP.

My brain won't shut up and leave me alone and I can't friggin sleep.

So, um, update. Well I'm at my dad's house. Which is good and bad. Its good because I can't afford to live somewhere. It's good because I'm not entirely lonely, but on the flip side I have to hang around my parents a lot. My rabbits are also ... miserable. There's not much I can do about that. My parents have 3 cats and 2 dogs and none are content to just let my rabbits be. The rabbits live in the "cabana," a sort indoor garage type thing. They can't come inside because the dogs and cats torment them, and they can only be outside undersupervision so they don't escape the yard. I've been smuggling Pierre in my room on occassion, but that's a temporary fix.

The buns live in large pens; Pierre's has his cage open inside the pen so he has a cage to sleep in and room to run and play. Hana and Siena live in the other pen together; they had a cage in there as well but they turned it into one big huge disgusting litter box. So they have a carrier, lots of toys, a hay box, and litter box. More room than being just stuck in their cages like in Davis....but significantly less freedom.

Sigh. I am also unemployed, although still applying for jobs and interviewing like a madwoman. Someone must want to hire me, and will be willing to pay me more than $8 an hour. >< Fucking completely useless college degrees. I need to start paying back student loans in 2 months and I don't even have a crap job to work at.

It's all so incredibly frustrating and depressing. There's so many things WRONG in my life and I feel so powerless to change them. I'm working on it, I really am, but nothing's going anywhere.

So I guess this is the part where I invoke the "its my journal" rule and throw myself a pity party.

But one year ago, Lawrence and I were wrapping up our vacation in Italy. Everything was so BRIGHT. Last year of college; first appartment we would have together and possibility of greater committment; adopting a mate for Pierre. And all of it, every last aspect, has gone to shit. I'm broke. Alone. Miserable. My rabbits still HATE each other with a passion I don't understand.

I do miss Lawrence, although I'm beginning to process the fact that he is not the man I loved so much. He has changed, he really has, and not for the better. Maybe Jean and Quynh can help me understand the difference, whatever it was that changed him. They knew us in the peak of our relationship....and watch our downfall as I kept my head buried in the sand.

My heart is full of so much cynicism and sorrow. Does true love exist or do we just pass through lovers and leave them behind? I want to be settled, I want to be married; I miss having a companion to talk to about my day and my troubles and share interests with. I feel like I'm doing nothing, accomplishing nothing, reaching no one. It's all so hopeless.

Man I am having a bad night. This is just a shitty time in my life. I'm focused on trying to find a job, get some money so I can get myself and my bunnies to where we'd be happier. Its no reflection on my parents at all...but you try living on your own for 4+ years and then living with your parents again. If they didn't have a zoo of predatory animals my buns would be more free.

Bleh. I think I'm done whining. I could just stand to be loved in more of the sense of my WoW guildies flirting with me.

Man it is 3:40 in the morning. Why am I still AWAKE? Sigh.

Hmmm what else do I have to say. Frank is now 16 which is just amazing. ::sniff:: My lil' brother is growing up! LEt me know what you think of Sandman, bro! Also, Hana's color is changing again. He went from being all white with a gray nose....to having a gray nose and ears and feet...to having only a pale gray shadow on his nose....to currently having an expanded gray patch on his nose and ears that are gradually darkening as he sheds. Also go see the movie The Illusionist. Very good. Edward Norton, Paul Giamatti. It's about love, drama, and magic. Norton is a David Copperfield-like magician in turn of the century Europe. So the film walks the fine line between magic and slight of hand, changes in technology, supernatural vs reality. In the end the film reveals whether the magic is magical or just an illusion. And no the title's not a spoiler. :P But a good film. Compelling love story. Made me cry especially since Lawrence came to visit and we saw it together. :( Two lovers willing to die for each other, and reaching the pit of grief as described by very talented actors.... also the costumes were really neat. Men's suits were so SNAZZY. Pocketwatches and everything.

My one criticism is the mustaches on most of the actors are soooo fake, I spent half the time waiting for one to fall off. Also the evil prince guy kills someone with this totally fake, ornamented jewel sword....I mean the thing is obviously blunt and for show; it's covered in impossibly useless jewels and I'm to believe a person died due to a prop sword. Swung by a guy with a totally fake mustache.

Heehee. Alright I'm sure I don't make sense anymore.

tattoo the third

Hi, all. I need to partake of the creative energy of a bunch of you on my friends list, who are great artists in their own right. :) Basically, I'm trying to craft the design for my 3rd tattoo, which I will get once I finalize the design and regain financial stability.

So any of you willing to take on a little project?

This tattoo will be a tribute to my bunnies, all 4 that I have had in the past or currently own, with room for more bunnies I may acquire in the future. I want to capture the look of all 4 of the rabbits; I don't want vague outlines but we don't need detailed profiles because this will not be a big tattoo. After much contemplation, I want it to go on the inside of my right wrist--where Chris has her Hanson tattoo(s). I don't want more tattoos on my back and don't want my rabbits hiding on my ankle or something. I want them right where I can see em. :)

So how to capture the essence of 4 rabbits? And what can we use to anchor the tattoo design? I have a couple of ideas.

This is Chris's Hanson tattoo. Yes for the newcomers, it's the band's symbol and the band's actual autographs. I will never forget the look on their faces when she told em what she was up to. They stared at her as if she was nuts. Well, ya know, she is.

What I want to take from this design is a symbol in the middle, representing a whole (the band) surrounded by individual imprints (autographs representing each member).

I did some searching and brainstorming and thought the Japanese kanji for rabbit (usagi) would be a great center for the tattoo. Here's the symbol, drawn basically (meh) and nicely (now that's something you'd like on your body...at least more than the first picture).

Okay, I'm sure I want that as a centerpiece. Imagine it on my wrist where Chris's tattoo is. Now draw an invisible circle AROUND the symbol. The imprints of each individual rabbits should fall somewhere on that circle line. Of course there will be no circle I'm just trying to explain this idea as best I can.

Here's where your creativity (Laurie, Jean, Quynh, Aubrie, Alyssa's boyfriend Andrew pretty please Lis?) comes into play. My best idea is to have sort of silhouttes of the bunnies...well not really black silhouttes (or however its spelled) because they would all look the same. I'm thinking generic side-rabbit profiles, the same profile drawn 3 times.

So we have 3 similar outlines. Those are customized as follows: first outline is all white and the one eye you see is red. Second outline reflects Pierre's marking on his ears, nose, body, etc and has brown eyes. Third outline reflects Siena's coloring and had black eyes.

The 4th outline is unique. It looks the same as the other 3 side profiles, but the rabbit has one ear down and one ear up. This is obviously Hana. The design here has red eyes and reflect's Hana's coloring....which is actually changing as we speak >< But that's a different post. :)

Unfortunately I have only one scanned picture of Al, but he was albino so he's not hard to draw. :P This is Pierre's photo album .... this is Siena's... and this is Hana's.

Now that we have the long-winded explanation down .... can anyone be of help?

I have an update for you all on the Christine front. She just finished the last of her training and is now a full-fledged "airman." That's the official title or something. She moved into her new apartment, which is being paid for by the US military, and Richard has joined her. They've been apart since May, and newlyweds too ...

Anyhoo they live in San Antonio, TX. Rick's favorite football team is the Dallas Cowboys so I'm sure he's as giddy as a schoolgirl. They JUST adopted a puppy!!! :D He's a lil black lab mix they named Mr. Bojangles, although they usually refer to him as Bo.

This is Sissy's "graduating class," as it were. Snazzy outfits!
